This course offers INSIGHT into the principles and practice of educational diagnostics and individual support planning in diverse and crisis-affected learning environments. It integrates inclusive pedagogical approaches with diagnostic methods to uncover learners’ strengths, needs, motivations, and socio-emotional contexts, providing a foundation for targeted and equitable support.
With a focus on student-centered and inclusive education, the module equips participants with tools to observe, understand, and respond to learners experiencing vulnerability, disadvantage, migration, or trauma. Through hands-on group work, case studies, and reflective exercises, students will co-develop diagnostic instruments and support strategies grounded in empathy, evidence, and adaptability.
The course is guided by the participatory principle “Nothing Without Us”, emphasizing the active involvement and dignity of all learners and of future teachers as advocates for fairness, flexibility, and care in education.
Learning Outcomes
After completing this module, students will be able to:
1. LO1: Explain key concepts and functions of educational diagnostics in inclusive educational systems.
2. LO2: Apply observation, documentation, and assessment methods to identify individual learning needs and strengths.
3. LO3: Design appropriate individual support strategies using internal differentiation and personalized learning planning.
4. LO4: Critically reflect on the role of diagnostics and performance assessment in promoting educational equity.
5. LO5: Collaborate effectively in intercultural and interdisciplinary teams to address educational challenges.
