Martin Luther ist die zentrale Gestalt für die von Wittenberg ausgegangene Reformation. In diesem Jahren jähren sich viele Lebensereignisse zum 500. Mal. So auch der Auftritt vor dem Reichstag in Worms und den anschließenden Aufenthalt auf der Wartburg im Jahr 1521. Worms war ein weitrechender Schritt, denn vor dem Kaiser und Reich hat Luther zu seiner Lehre gestanden und nicht widerrufen. Er wurde danach oberhalb von Eisenach auf der Wartburg versteckt und dort hatte er die Ruhe und Zeit, das Neue Testament ins Deutsche zu übersetzen. Ziel des Seminares ist es, sich in einen Prozess zu begeben, bei dem Worms und Wartburg für die heutige Wirklichkeit und Situation des Religionsunterrichts erfahrbar wird.
