360016 Wahrsagetechniken (S) (SoSe 2026)

Thema, Einführung, Überblick
Oftmals gilt die Zukunft als ungewiss – aber muss sie das sein? Abhilfe versprechen eine ganze Reihe von Wahrsagetechniken (Horoskope, Handlesen, Kartenlegen, Kaffeesatzleserei, die Schau des Vogelflugs, Spökenkiekerei, Gummibärchenorakel und viele mehr), die wir im Laufe des Seminars ausprobieren und diskutieren werden. Sollten uns dabei einzelne Wahrsagetechniken eher unplausibel erscheinen, soll zudem ein Blick „hinter die Kulissen“ der Wahrsagerei erfolgen, bei dem es dann vor allem um Techniken der psychologischen Inszenierung (bspw. „Barnum-Effekt“, Cold reading vs. hot reading, etc.) und skeptische Gegenargumente (bspw. das von Augustinus gegen die Astrologie formulierte Zwillingsparadoxon) gehen wird.

Lehr- bzw. Lernziele
In der Veranstaltung erlangen Studierende fakultative Kenntnisse und Kompetenzen zum kritischen Umgang mit Esoterik, Zauberei und ähnlichen Religioiden gemäß ESCO-Standard.

Arbeitsweise: Interaktive Übungen an „magischen“ Objekten und Techniken mit Inter- und Supervision sowie kritischen Diskussionen.
