Die soziologische Systemtheorie in der Luhmannschen Fassung ist gerade für Studienanfänger*innen schwer zugänglich. Selbst vonseiten ‚gestandener‘ Soziolog*innen wird Luhmanns Denken nicht selten als unverständlich beschrieben. Das Seminar nimmt diese Verständnisschwierigkeiten zum Ausgangspunkt und bietet Gelegenheit, sich mit der Theorie sozialer Systeme vertraut zu machen. Herausgearbeitet werden zunächst wichtige Bezüge und Elemente der Theorie. Darüber hinaus soll deutlich werden, dass die Theorie ein hilfreiches Instrumentarium für empirische Forschungen bereitstellt. Das Seminar nimmt hierzu Arbeiten systemtheoretisch orientierter Soziolog*innen (z.B. Elena Esposito, Klaus P. Japp, André Kieserling, Rudolf Stichweh, Helmut Willke) auf, um die Leistungsfähigkeit der Theorie mit Bezug auf konkrete empirische Fragestellungen im Kontext unterschiedlicher Ebenen des Sozialen (Interaktion, Organisation, Gesellschaft) zu überprüfen.
Der Veranstaltungsplan, sämtliche Texte sowie Handreichungen mit Bezug auf die Prüfungs- bzw. Studienleistung sind ab Anfang Oktober über den Lernraum zugänglich.
