Druck, Papier und Buch (19.-20. Jahrhundert)
Im Zuge des 19. Jahrhunderts entstehen zahlreiche Druckverfahren, die einen breiten Markt für neue mediale Formate eröffnen. Neben einem Einsatz für Zeitungen, Plakate oder Flugblätter bieten die neuen Techniken auch für den künstlerischen Bereich facettenreiche Möglichkeiten, z.B. Lithografien, Offsetdruck oder Siebdruck. Künstlerische Fallbeispiele und theoretische Ansätze zum Material, zum Druck und Buch sind Ausgangspunkt der jeweiligen Sitzungen. Welche künstlerischen Formen gibt es, wie setzen sich Künstler_innen mit tradierten Formaten, etwa des Buches, auseinander? Schwerpunkte liegen hier etwa auf Formen des Livre d’artiste oder dem Künstlerbuch.
Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, einen ersten Einstieg in die verschiedenen Drucktechniken und ihre Analyse zu bekommen sowie aktuelle theoretische Ansätze zu ‚Kunst aus Papier‘ kennenzulernen. Der Besuch einer Sammlung ist geplant, muss jedoch an die aktuelle Lage angepasst werden. Mündliche Präsentationen und schriftliche Kurzessays sind Teil der Veranstaltung. Die Lektüre englischsprachiger Texte wird vorausgesetzt.
