Das Seminar gibt den Studierenden einen theoretischen und praktischen Überblick über verschiedene Inhalte aus den Bereichen Inszenierung, Performatives und Bewegung. Die Seminarinhalte teilen sich hierbei in drei große Blöcke auf:
I. Körper – Raum – Bewegung/ Improvisationstheater: Die Studierenden entwickeln über verschiedene Körperwahrnehmungs- und Bewegungsübungen ein Bewusstsein für sich und ihr Verhältnis zum Raum. Hierbei kommen verschiedene Übungen und Spiele aus dem Improvisationstheater zum Einsatz, in denen Rollen erforscht, an Haltungen gearbeitet und Bewegungsabläufe entwickelt werden.
II. Performances: Die Studierenden bekommen einen Einblick in Grundlagen der Performance-Kunst, diskutieren Performances verschiedener Künstlerinnen und Künstler und entwickeln eine eigene Performance-Idee, die sie planen, durchführen und dokumentieren.
III. Körperinszenierungen mit Filmprojektionen: Die Studierenden entwickeln alleine bzw. in Kleingruppen Körperinszenierungen, in die sie das Medium Film integrieren.

Von den Studierenden wird eine aktive Teilnahme erwartet, welche u.a. durch das Führen eines Werkstattbuches dokumentiert wird.
Bestandteil der fachpraktischen Prüfung aus Modul 1 ist die Teilnahme an den vier Einführungen in die praktische Arbeit in den Werkstätten (Medienlabor, Fotolabor/Fotoausrüstung, Atelier- und Werkstattarbeit, Lichtanlage und Abfallwirtschaft) = Werkstattpass.
