250218 Filmbildung und Filmvermittlung: Das Kino der Sofia Coppola (S) (SoSe 2019)

Ihren filmischen Durchbruch als Regisseurin hatte Sofia Coppola mit "Lost in Translation". In dem Film treffen sich Bill Murray und Scarlett Johansson in der Metropole Tokyo um dort in filmisch-ruhiger Atmosphäre einen Ausweg aus ihrem tristen Alltag zu finden. Bereits vier Jahre zuvor inszenierte die Tochter von Francis Ford Coppola mit "The Virgin Suicides" eine Romanadaption des amerikanischen Autors Jeffrey Eugenides in ebenso ruhigem, aber aufwühlendem Stil. Es folgten der Historienfilm "Marie Antoinette", den Coppola mit einem Soundtrack aus New Wave bis Post Punk unterlegte, sowie "Somewhere" (mit Stephen Dorff und Elle Fanning), "The Bling Ring" (mit u. a. Emma Watson und Taissa Farmiga) und "Die Verführten", der bereits 1971 von Don Siegel und mit Clint Eastwood in der Hauptrolle als "Männer-Fassung" der Romanvorlage gedreht wurde.
Wir werden im Seminar die Filme von Sofia Coppola anschauen und in anschließenden Filmgesprächen und weiteren Methodiken der Filmbildung die Filmwelten der Regisseurin mitsamt ihren ihr innewohnenden Thematiken und Stilistiken erarbeiten.
Das Seminar ist zweiwöchentlich und findet statt am:
