Friedrich Daniel Ernst Schleiermachers (1768–1834) Ringen um einen neuen Zugang zum Christusglauben im Horizont der europäischen Aufklärung gehört zu den faszinierendsten Kapiteln der neueren Theologiegeschichte. In der Christologie, mit ihren Zentralbegriffen "Urbild" und "Erlöser", erblicken wir dann auch das "Herzstück" seiner bewusstseinstheoretisch angelegten Glaubenslehre, deren dogmatischer "Grundtext" Johannes 1, 14 ist: "Und das Wort ward Fleisch und wohnte unter uns und wir sahen seine Herrlichkeit". Die Entwicklung seines christologischen Denkweges in Abgrenzung zur Zweinaturenlehre und dem Satisfaktionsdogma führte ihn von brieflichen Auseinandersetzungen mit seinem Vater (1785–1787) über die Schrift "Die Weihnachtsfeier" (1806) und zahlreiche (Passions-, Karfreitags-, Oster- und Himmelfahrts-)Predigten hin zu den beiden Auflagen der Glaubenslehre (1821/22 und 1830/31). In diesem Seminar soll die Entwicklung der Christologie Schleiermachers anhand dieser verschiedenen Textgattungen nachvollzogen und diskutiert werden sowie auf gegenwärtige Anschlussmöglichkeiten geprüft werden.
