Max Weber hat grundsätzliche Fragen sozialwissenschaftlichen Forschens und Denkens auf hohem Niveau in heute noch gültiger oder diskutabler Fassung behandelt: das Verhältnis von Theorie und Empirie bzw. Theorie und Geschichte, das Verhältnis von Naturwissenschaft und Kulturwissenschaft, die Frage nach „Objektivität“ in den Sozialwissenschaften, das Verhältnis von Begriff und Wirklichkeit, das Verhältnis von Wissenschaft und Weltanschauung, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen moderner Wissenschaft.
Zweck der Veranstaltung ist die Einführung in das sozialwissenschaftliche Denken Max Webers. Das Programm kann nach den Interessen und Bedürfnissen der Studierenden gestaltet werden. Ein Angebot wird in der ersten Sitzung vorgelegt.
