Die Kontextiualisierung sucht die politischen, wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Rahmenbedinfungen zu erarbeiten, in denen sich antike ethnographisches Denken entwickelte. Gleichzeitig wird die Lektüre der Texte weitergeführt und vertieft.
