Innerhalb der Erziehungswissenschaft spielen Gesellschaftstheorien immer eine besondere Rolle, weil Sie Orientierungspunkte für die akademische und praktische Ausrichtung der Diszipln darstellen. Kritische Gesellschaftstheorien haben in diesem Zusammenhang die besondere Bedeutung, weil sie sich an Zeitdiagnosen anschließen, die zu einem Wandel von Erziehungsinstitutionen und -praktiken auffordern und damit beständig zu einer Herausforderung der Disziplin geführt haben und immer noch führen. Das Seminar soll der Entwicklung Kritischer Gesellschaftstheorien nachgehen, ihre Verankerung in der Erziehungswissenschaft nachvollziehen und nach ihrer Anwedung bzw. Anwendbarkeit in der aktuellen Debatte fragen.
