Demokratische Bildung ist für das Funktionieren multikultureller Demokratien von zentraler Bedeutung, und dennoch ist sie zunehmend öffentlichen Kontroversen und politischem Druck ausgesetzt. Schwindendes öffentliches Vertrauen in öffentliche Institutionen, die Infragestellung demokratischer Werte, staatliches Versagen und politischer Populismus haben die bestehenden Strukturen auch des öffentlichen Bildungswesens stark belastet. Angesichts dieser Entwicklungen scheint es von zentraler Bedeutung zu sein, Konzepte, Theorie und Ansätze demokratischer Bildung vor allem in Erziehungs- und Bildungssettings zu stärken. Dieser besonderen Anforderung in der erziehungswissenschaftlichen Diskussion nachzugehen, neue Themen und Befunde aufzunehmen, ist Aufgabe der Arbeit im Seminar. Die Auseinandersetzung erfolgt literaturbasiert. Grundlage sind Forschungstexte der internationalen Diskussion. Es werden Texte in englischer Sprache bearbeitet, die Seminararbeit erfolgt auf Deutsch. Für die Studienleistung müssen Forschungstexte gelesen und in thematischen Sitzungen moderierend vorgestellt werden. Die Möglichkeit für eine Prüfungsleistung ist vorhanden.

Master of Arts: Voraussetzung ist die Einschreibung im Master of Arts Erziehungswissenschaft im WiSe 2024/25
M.Ed. UFP: Voraussetzung ist die Einschreibung im Master of Education, Unterrichtsfach Pädagogik im WiSe 2024/25Die Veranstaltung wird in deutscher Sprache gehalten.
