Dieses Seminar widmet sich den ethischen Dimensionen des Hackings im Zusammenhang zu kulturellen Ausprägungen und ist im Schnittfeld von Erziehungswissenschaft und Informatik konzipiert. Es geht zunächst um die Frage, wie der Begriff des Hackings historisch und im Zusammenhang zur Medien- und Technologiegeschichte konzipiert ist. Aufbauend darauf, werden Begriffe und Praktiken des Hackings sowie deren gesellschaftliche Implikationen vertiefend betrachtet (Hackerethik, Kultur, Whistleblowing, Exploiting, Phreaking, Cracking). Neben der technischen Auseinandersetzung mit Hacks und ihren sozialen, kulturellen und politischen Ausprägungen werden auch mediale Inszenierungen des Hackings (beispielsweise in Film und Fernsehen) kritisch vor dem Hintergrund einer strukturalen Medienbildung diskutiert.
