Die Vorlesung gibt eine anwendungsorientierte Einführung in die quantitativen Forschungsmethoden der Erziehungswissenschaft.
Die Lehrveranstaltung weist sechs inhaltliche Schwerpunkte auf:
(a) Wissenschaftstheoretische Grundlagen empirischer Forschung in den Sozialwissenschaften
(b) Operationalisierung, Messen und Testen in der quantitativen erziehungswissenschaftlichen Forschung
(c) Forschungsstrategien und Forschungsdesigns in der empirischen sozialwissenschaftlichen Forschung
(d) Methoden der Datenerhebung (z.B. Befragung)
(e) Methoden der deskriptiven Datenanalyse (z.B. Maße der zentralen Tendenz und der Dispersion)
(f) Die Prüfung empirisch fundierter Hypothesen mit Hilfe der Schließenden Statistik (Inferenzstatistik): Unterschieds- und Zusammenhangshypothesen (z.B. die Signifikanzprüfung von Mittelwertunterschieden und Korrelationskoeffizienten)
