Contents, comment

Im Mittelpunkt des Seminares stehen die Medien- und die Gesellschaftstheorie der vor allem von Niklas Luhmann entwickelten soziologischen Systemtheorie. Über die Lektüre ausgewählter Primärtexte zur Medien- und Gesellschaftstheorie sollen erstens die besondere Theorieanlage der Systemtheorie, zweitens die unterschiedlichen Arten von Medien (Verbreitungsmedien und Erfolgsmedien) und drittens die Zusammenhänge von Medienevolution und gesellschaftlicher Differenzierung herausgearbeitet werden.
Basiskenntnisse der soziologischen Systemtheorie sind für die Teilnahme an dem Seminar von Vorteil, aber keine Voraussetzung. Notwendig ist aber die Bereitschaft, sich in intensiver Lektürearbeit mit der komplexen Theorieanlage der Systemtheorie auseinanderzusetzen.
