Should you have or suspect to have some interest in Game Theory and the modeling of communication, this seminar should suit you well. Likewise, should you feel attracted to conversation analysis and seek for some more formal, theoretically motivated underpinnings, this seminar will do you good. The seminar´s topic is situated on the intersection of Pragmatics and Game Theory. The plan is to read central sections from three short books, plus perhaps some other essays. The first book is by the philosopher Brian Skyrms, the second by the economist Ariel Rubinstein, the last one by the linguist Oswald Ducrot. All of them are written in English. Most of the material and readings will be made available in the Lernraum or by other means.
