Karl Barth hat seine Dogmatik und sein ganzes theologisches Werk nachdrücklich als Dienst an der Predigt und die eigene Predigt als Bewährungsprobe der Theologie verstanden. So spiegelt sich der lange Weg seiner theologischen Entwicklung eindrucksvoll und jedermann zugänglich in seinen Predigten. Das Seminar fragt nach den Grundentscheidungen der Theologie Barths und sucht die Antwort in ausgewählten Predigten. Dabei soll der große Theologe auch in zwei Rundfunkaufnahmen, die seine Predigttägigkeit dokumentieren, zu Wort kommen. Das Seminar führt ein in die Theologie eines theologischen Lehrers und Predigers, der mit guten Gründen als "Kirchenvater des 20. Jahrhunderts" bezeichnet wird.
Das Seminar ist geeignet sowohl für Anfänger als auch für Fortgeschrittene des Studiums der Systematischen Theologie.
