Der Kurs zielt auf eine einführende Auseinandersetzung mit dem Werk von Georg Simmel. Über die Lektüre ausgewählter Texte und deren Diskussion befassen wir uns mit den von Simmel benannten Problemkreisen der Soziologie (Allgemeine Soziologie, Formale Soziologie, Philosophische Soziologie). So bietet sich die Möglichkeit, die Spannbreite und den Ertrag der Simmelschen Soziologie in Grundzügen zu erkennen.
