Bei der Vorlesung Entwicklungspsychologie handelt es sich um eine zweisemestrige Lehrveranstaltung. Im ersten Semester werden Theorien zur Entwicklungspsychologie vorgestellt (u.a. lerntheoretische, kognitionspsychologische, informationsverarbeitungstheoretische und biogenetische Entwicklungskonzeptionen). Im Anschluss werden Entwicklungsveränderungen in verschiedenen Lebensabschnitten dargestellt. Im Kleinkindalter stehen dabei zunächst die Entwicklung von Wahrnehmung, Motorik, Lernen und Gedächtnis im Vordergrund. Im zweiten Semester folgen Darstellungen zur sozioemotionalen Entwicklung, Bindungsverhalten, Sprache, Moral und Geschlechtstypisierung (vor allem bezogen auf das Kindes- und Jugendalter), Entwicklung im mittleren und höheren Erwachsenenalter sowie zu Anwendungen der Entwicklungspsychologie.
