Das Seminar hat insgesamt drei thematische Schwerpunkte: 1) Klärung des Arbeitsbegriffs aus einer philosophischen Perspektive. Hier werden sowohl aktuelle als auch philosophiehistorische Texte gelesen. 2) Arbeit und Geschlecht: wir werden uns vor allem mit den Thesen der Philosophin Angelika Krebs auseinandersetzen, die u.a. der Frage nachgeht, ob Kindererziehung Familienarbeit oder eine legitim unbezahlte ‚Arbeit aus Liebe‘ sei. Wir werden Gerechtigkeitsthesen zu diesen Themenfeld behandeln, vor allem in Rückgriff auf ein institutionelles Verständnis ‚ökonomischer Arbeit‘. 3) Im letzten Themenblock wird die Frage in Fokus stehen, ob es in unserer Gesellschaft ein Recht auf Arbeit geben sollte.
Diese Veranstaltung eignet sich insbesondere für angehende Lehrerinnen und Lehrer der Fächer Philosophie/Praktische Philosophie (in Kombination mit dem Seminar von Hans Jaekel "Philosophie für die Schule") sowie für Studierende der Gender Studies.
