Im Seminar werden wir uns mit der Konstruktion der Zweigeschlechtlichkeit sowie ihre Reproduktion und Verstrickung in den Medien beschäftigen. Zunächst werden wir hierfür die Konstruktion der Bipolarität zwischen männlich und weiblich analysieren und die Bedeutsamkeit der Medien im täglichen doing gender offen legen. Desweiteren werden wir uns mit verschiedenen Filmen beschäftigen und diese aufgrund ihrer Geschlechterkonstruktionen diskutieren. Hierfür werden wir unter anderem Theorien wie die Cultural Studies nutzen, um uns eine reflexive Analyse machtimmanenter Strukturen in medialen Darstellungen anzueignen, um somit neue Perspektiven auf teils unhinterfragte angebliche Selbstverständlichkeiten zu eröffnen.
