In der Rechtsphilosophie geht es zum einen um konzeptuelle Fragen (was ist Recht überhaupt? Wie das Verhältnis zwischen Moral und Recht zu sehen?), zum anderen werden in der Rechtsphilosophie grundlegende normative Fragen zur Institution des Rechts diskutiert (wie lässt sich die Praxis juridischen Strafens rechtfertigen? Gibt es eine moralische Pflicht zum Rechtsgehorsam?).
