Die Erwachsenenbildung hat sich in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten zunehmend von Vorstellungen einer direkten Wissensvermittlung hin zu Konzepten der Lernbegleitung, Ermöglichungsdidaktik und selbstgesteuerten Aneignung entwickelt. Erwachsene Lernende gelten nicht mehr primär als Adressat von Belehrung, sondern als aktive Subjekte, die ihre Lernprozesse eigenständig gestalten und in soziale sowie biografische Kontexte einbetten.

Das Seminar setzt sich mit dieser Verschiebung vom Vermitteln zum Begleiten auseinander und fragt nach den theoretischen Grundlagen, Chancen und Herausforderungen einer ermöglichungsorientierten Erwachsenenbildung. Ausgehend von zentralen Konzepten der Erwachsenenbildungsdidaktik werden Fragen der Teilnehmendenorientierung, Selbststeuerung, Lernprozessbegleitung sowie der veränderten professionellen Rolle von Erwachsenenbildner diskutiert. Dabei wird auch der Frage nachgegangen, welche Konsequenzen diese Perspektive für die Gestaltung von Lernarrangements und Gruppenprozessen hat.

Das Seminar bildet die theoretische Grundlage für die Veranstaltung „Vom Vermitteln zum Begleiten 2: Moderationsmethoden zur Begleitung von Gruppen in der Erwachsenenbildung“ von Claudia Lobe. Die parallele Belegung beider Veranstaltungen wird daher ausdrücklich empfohlen.

Das Seminar wird als Blockveranstaltung durchgeführt. Von den Teilnehmenden wird die Bereitschaft erwartet, sich aktiv mit theoretischen Texten auseinanderzusetzen, Diskussionsbeiträge einzubringen und ausgewählte Fragestellungen eigenständig zu bearbeiten.
