Das Seminar führt umfassend in die Staatstheorie von Pierre Bourdieu ein und behandelt damit verbundene Themen wie sozialstrukturelle Polarisierung, die Neoliberalisierung der Gesellschaft und die Zunahme sozialer Anomie. Die Erarbeitung der Inhalte erfolgt auf der Grundlage zentraler Texte Bourdieus sowie einschlägiger Sekundärliteratur. Zugleich bereitet das Seminar auf die im Februar 2027 an der Universität Bielefeld stattfindenden Bourdieu Lectures zum gleichen Themenschwerpunkt vor. Eine Mitwirkung an den Bourdieu Lectures ist nicht notwendig, wird aber angeboten. Geplante Fach- und Diskussionsbeiträge zur Tagung werden in die Seminararbeit einbezogen.
