260039 Klimaforschung und Klimakrise (S) (WiSe 2026/2027)

„I want you to panic like the house is on fire!” Mit diesen Worten fordert Klima-Aktivistin Greta Thunberg Politiker*Innen auf, endlich etwas gegen die Klimakrise zu tun. Dabei bringt sie die Zahl 431ppm in Spiel, welche die Anzahl von CO2 Molekülen in der Atmosphäre beschreibt. Die wie genau wird diese Größe berechnet? Und ab welchem Wert droht sich das Klima unumkehrbar zu verändern, mit tödlichen Konsequenzen für Mensch und Umwelt? Und was müssen wir als Gesellschaft und als Individuen tun, um die weitere Emission von klimaschädlichen Gasen zu stoppen? Im Seminar wollen wir diese und andere wissenschafts-philosophische und gesellschaftliche Fragen zu Klimaforschung und Klimakrise anhand einführender Texte zum Thema diskutieren.

Requirements for participation, required level

Abschluss des ersten Studienjahres (beide Grundkurse, Philosophischer Einstieg und Philosophisches Schreiben).

Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 3 Leistungspunkten ist das Erbringen des schriftlichen oder mündlichen Beitrags im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern bzw. 10-20 Minuten. Die genauen Anforderungen werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.

Es besteht die Möglichkeit, im Anschluss an dieses Seminar eine Prüfung zum Abschluss eines Moduls zu erbringen. Für alle Prüfungen in Philosophie gilt, dass sie das Befolgen der Regeln guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis voraussetzen, wozu u.a. der angemessene Umgang mit philosophischer Literatur und das Beachten der in der Eigenständigkeitserklärung formulierten Anforderungen gehört: https://www.uni-bielefeld.de/fakultaeten/philosophie/studium/pruefungsamt/Eigenstandigkeitserklarung.pdf.
