Um die Mondlandung, die Ermordung von JFK und 9/11 ranken sich einige Verschwörungstheorien. Manche Dinge sind angeblich gar nicht so passiert, wie sie uns in den Medien gezeigt werden. Geschehnisse werden uminterpretiert und wahlweise sind Juden, Muslime, die CIA, eine neue Weltordnung (NWO) oder gar reptiloide Lebewesen, die in der Hohlerde wohnen, daran Schuld. Muss man wissen! Durch das Internet, bzw. soziale Medien haben diese Verschwörungstheorien einen Aufschwung erlebt, so könnte man meinen. Rasant können sich Theorien über Chemtrails, nicht-vorhandene Friedensverträge (Stichwort: BRiD GmbH) und auch Flüchtlinge verbreiten.
Im Seminar werden verschiedene Theorien beleuchtet und deren Entstehung/Entwicklung analysiert. Dabei wird auch auf die Frage eingegangen werden, wie wir damit umgehen sollten, wenn man in der Tat mal auf Verschwörungstheoretiker trifft. Sind sie gefährlich? Was machen sie mit unserer Gesellschaft? Oder sind es einfach nur – wenn auch extreme – Konstruktionen der Wirklichkeit, mit denen eine Demokratie leben muss.
