In this seminar, we will examine the rhetorical architecture of key theoretical perspectives within cultural and literary studies (the structure of their claims, their ensemble of questions, selection of topics, distribution of concerns, etc). We will also consider whether and how these theoretical perspectives intersect, inform and/or respond to each other. Students will be asked to critically engage with the theoretical material by analysing cultural artefacts.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
