Christliche Festtage prägen auch heute noch den Jahreskalender, kirchliche Feiertage unterbrechen den Arbeitsalltag und stehen teilweise unter besonderem – mittlerweile auch umstrittenem - gesetzlichen Schutz. Auch wenn die christlichen Hochfeste in der gesamten Christenheit gefeiert werden, gibt es Unterschiede in ihrer Datierung und in den mit ihnen verbundenen lokalen Bräuchen und Traditionen. In dem Seminar wird es um Herkunft und Bedeutung von Kalendern und ihrer spezifisch christlichen Ausprägung gehen. Welche Bedeutung haben der Wochen- und Jahresrhythmus, warum werden welche christlichen Feiertage begangen und wie sind die lokalen Traditionen zu erklären.
