Locke ist einer der wichtigsten Vertreter des britischen Empirismus. Sein Hauptwerk "An Essay Concerning Human Understanding" gilt als Meilenstein der modernen Erkenntnistheorie. Wegen seines speziellen Ansatzes hat Locke hierbei auch markante Beiträge zur Philosophie des Geistes, zur Sprachphilosophie und zur Ontologie geleistet, die im Zentrum des Seminars stehen werden.

Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 2 Leistungspunkten (Bachelor Einschreibung bis SoSe 11 und Master of Education) ist die regelmäßige Teilnahme sowie das Erbringen des schriftlichen oder mündlichen Beitrags im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern für das Modulportfolio, auf dem die unbenotete Moduleinzelleistung beruht. Die Anforderungen für den Modulportfolio-Beitrag werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.
Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 3 Leistungspunkten (Einschreibung ab WS 11/12) ist das Erbringen des schriftlichen oder mündlichen Beitrags im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern bzw. 10-20 Minuten. Die genauen Anforderungen werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.
