Die Historische Orientierungsübung ist mit dem Seminar “Zwischen Gesellenwanderung und Grand Tour: Bildungsmobilität in der Frühen Neuzeit” verbunden. Beide Veranstaltungen sind eng aufeinander abgestimmt. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Veranstaltung stehen die verschiedenen Organisationsformen von Bildung und Ausbildung in der Frühen Neuzeit (Schule, Lehre, Studium etc.) sowie deren Entwicklung im Verlauf der Frühen Neuzeit. Wichtige Aspekte sind hierbei die Rolle der Konfessionalisierung und Aufklärung für Universitäten und Schulen, die Praktiken der Ausbildung von Handwerkern und Gesellen und der Zugang zur Bildung für Frauen. Die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft, sich mit umfangreicher englischsprachiger Literatur auseinanderzusetzen, wird vorausgesetzt.
