Im Alltag, in der Politik, in moralischen Entscheidungen schließen wir tagein, tagaus Kompromisse. Dabei ist alles andere als klar, was ein Kompromiss genau ist. Haben die Akteure einen Deal ausgehandelt? Haben sie sich die Hände gereicht oder einem Druck nachgegeben – aus Furcht, alles zu verlieren, oder um ihr Gesicht zu wahren? Schließt ein Kompromiss notwendig eine Verhandlung zwischen mehreren Personen ein, oder kann auch eine einzelne Person einen Kompromiss mit sich selbst schließen, wenn sie vor unzumutbare Handlungsalternativen, vor unlösbare innere Konflikte gestellt ist?
Wir werden uns auf verschiedene philosophische Dimensionen des Kompromisses konzentrieren, allen voran in der Politik und in der Moral.

Wir werden mehrere Kapitel meines Buches, „Spielarten des Kompromisses“ (Suhrkamp Taschenbuch, stw 2374) lesen. Ich empfehle deshalb den Kauf des Buches. Das Buch ist aber auch in der UB erhältlich. Weitere Texte werden rechtzeitig in den Lernraum hochgeladen.
