Aus der Bibel sind den meisten vor allem die "Männergeschichten" bekannt. Sie erzählen vom Glauben Abrahams, vom Mut Davids oder der Weisheit Salomos. Aber es gibt auch viele starke Frauen in der Bibel, die ebenso weise und mutig waren. Einige Bücher der Bibel sind sogar ganz solchen Frauen gewidmet und nach ihnen benannt: Rut, Judit, Ester.
Im Blockseminar sollen, nach einer Einführung in grundlegende Fragen zur Stellung der Frau in Israel und im Judentum, anhand einiger Beispiele unterschiedliche Frauengestalten des Alten Testaments in den Blick genommen werden. Frauen wie Tamar (Gen 38), Mirjam (Ex 15, Num 12), Debora (Ri 4f.), Hanna (1 Sam 1), Rut, Judit oder Ester können dazu beitragen, die Rolle der Frau in der Bibel differenzierter zu bewerten und einen Einblick in den Facettenreichtum des Alten Testaments zu gewinnen.

Der Nachweis der aktiven Teilnahme ist durch ein Referat in Form einer Sitzungsgestaltung, eine Beteiligung in den Sitzungen und die Teilnahme an den Gruppenarbeiten und Diskussionen zu erbringen.
Ein Modulabschluss ist in Form einer schriftlichen Hausarbeit möglich.
