« Der Schatten » als Archetypus der Heldenreise nach Christopher Vogler ist eine starke antagonistische Figurenkonzeption, die sich vor allem in den Animationsfilmen der Walt Disney Animation Studios wiederfinden lässt, hier als Teil der Filmwelt das personifizierte Böse markiert, welches dem Guten gegenübersteht.
Es sind Figuren wie Scar (« The Lion King »), Ursula (« The Little Mermaid »), Cruella de Vil (« 101 Dalmatians »), Maleficent (« Sleeping Beauty »), Jafar (« Aladdin »), Gaston (« The Beauty and the Beast ») oder The Evil Queen (« Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs »), die die jeweiligen Filme nicht minder geprägt haben als ihre Held:innen.
In diesem Seminar wollen wir gemeinsam die neuesten Produktionen der sowohl Walt Disney Animation Studios als auch der Pixar Animation Studios ansehen und « das Böse » der Moderne herausarbeiten. Was ist heutzutage die antagonistische Kraft, wie wird diese als Figur präsentiert, bzw. bekommt sie überhaupt noch eine Gestalt ?

Für eine benotete oder unbenotete Prüfungsleistung müssen sie eine schriftliche, wissenschaftliche Hausarbeit (4500 Wörter, ca. 15 inhaltsvolle Seiten) verfassen, in der eine Fragestellung/These mit Bezug auf die Seminarthematik bearbeitet wird.
Für eine Studienleistung recherchieren sie einen wissenschaftlichen Text, der sich mit einer Thematik des Seminars beschäftigt und fassen diesen auf einer Din A 4 Seite zusammen.
