In diesem Seminar werden einige grundlegende Texte aus der kritischen Tradition gelesen: Marx, Adorno, Horkheimer, ev. Habermas. Das Seminar ist einführend in dem Sinn, dass es keine speziellen Kenntnisse voraussetzt. Es ist aber nicht einführend in dem Sinn, dass es einfach und anspruchslos und Wissen ohne eigene Mühe und Anstrengung vermittelt. Die Kritische Theorie besteht aus schwierigen, nicht sofort zugänglichen, stark philosophisch durchsetzten und zudem einige Generationen vor uns geschriebenen Texten. Die Teilnahme am Seminar setzt die Bereitschaft voraus, solche Texte zu lesen und die damit verbundenen Frust- und Anstrengungserfahrungen auszuhalten. Wer diese Bereitschaft nicht hat, sollte sich über die Kritische Theorie bei Wikipedia oder anderswo informieren.
