Diese Veranstaltung bietet Studierenden der Linguistik eine Einführung in die Prinzipien und Vorgehensweisen empirisch arbeitender. Sprachwissenschaft. Anhand von ausgewählten Fallbeispielen und Übungsaufgaben werden linguistische Datenerhebungs- und -analysetechniken in zwei Themenschwerpunkten behandelt.
Der Themenschwerpunkt „Grundlagen empirischer Linguistik“ befasst sich u.a. mit
- systematischer Beobachtung als empirischem Grundprinzip
- Objektivität, Reliabilität und Validität empirischer Daten
- gebräuchlichen Verfahren der Datenerhebung
- Problemen der Operationalisierung und des Skalenniveaus von Daten
Der Themenschwerpunkt „Grundlagen quantitativer Datenanalyse“ befasst sich u.a. mit
- Möglichkeiten der Darstellung numerischer Daten
- statistischen Kennwerten (Mittelwerte und Streuungswerte)
- Maßen für den Zusammenhang von Messwertreihen
- Logik statistischer Signifikanzprüfung
