Die Vorlesung führt in grundlegende medienpädagogisches Denk- und Theoriekonzepte ein, zeigt Handlungsfelder auf und beleuchtet aktuelle Phänomene in der digitalen Welt. Zentrale Themen bilden Mediensozialisation, Medienerziehung, Mediendidaktik und empirischer Medienforschung. Im Zentrum stehen insbesondere das Aufwachsen in mediatisierten Lebenswelten, historischen Entwicklungslinien und Positionen sowie Konzepte von Medienkompetenz und Medienbildung.
