Es gibt keine runden Quadrate. Es ist moralisch nicht zulässig, eine Person umzubringen, um fünf Leute mit Organen zu versorgen. Ein Gegenstand kann nicht gleichzeitig komplett rot und komplett grün sein. Wenn man nicht ausschließen kann, dass man sich irrt, dann hat man kein Wissen.
Ob Sie diesen Aussagen zustimmen, entscheiden Sie blitzschnell. Und danach ist nicht so richtig klar, worauf Sie ihr Urteil eigentlich fußen. Diese Art von schneller Urteilsfällung, deren Zustandekommen introspektiv nicht so richtig zugänglich ist, wird in der Philosophie als Intuition aufgefasst. Aber was tragen die Dinger argumentativ eigentlich aus? Nichts? Sehr viel? Kommt drauf an?Dieses Seminar befasst sich mit der Natur und der erkenntnistheoretischen Rolle von Intuition, indem wir uns die folgenden Fragen stellen: (1) Was sind Intuitionen? (2) Welche Rolle spielen sie in philosophischen (und anderen) Argumenten? (3) Sollten sie diese Rolle spielen? (4) Was sind die Implikationen der empirischen Untersuchung von Intuitionen für ihre eigene Rolle?
Die Inhalte dieses Seminars sind nicht historisch orientiert, sondern beschäftigen sich mit der zeitgenössischen, empirisch informierten Forschung. Das Vorgehen wird wesentlich darin bestehen, neuere Texte zum Thema zu lesen und gemeinsam über Intuition zu philosophieren. Der Schwerpunkt liegt ausdrücklich auf Debatte und Diskussion.

Das Seminar ist prinzipiell für alle Studierende offen. Das Thema ist allerdings philosophisch eher voraussetzungsreich, daher empfehle ich die Teilnahme nur für höhere Semester.
