Diese Veranstaltung bietet eine Einführung in theoretische Grundlagen der Mediensoziologie, die auch einen ersten Überblick über einige Methoden der qualitativen Medienforschung beinhaltet. Behandelt werden dabei sowohl unterschiedliche theoretische Zugänge (z.B. Systemtheorie der Medien) als auch zentrale Forschungsfelder (z.B. Öffentlichkeit) der Mediensoziologie. Darüber hinaus werden die theoretischen Zugänge mit methodologischen Grundlagen und ausgewählten Methoden qualitativer Medienforschung verbunden. Diese breite Anlage erfordert eine enge Auswahl an Theorien, Methoden und Forschungsfeldern der Mediensoziologie.
