„Wutbürger“, „Trauermärsche“, „Angst vor dem Terror“ sind Beispiele, die auf die Zunahme affektiver Kommunikation in öffentlichen Räumen verweisen. Die Auseinandersetzung mit Affektartikulationen in der Migrationsgesellschaft ist Thema des Seminars. Hierbei stehen zwei Aspekte im Vordergrund: a) Beschäftigung mit affekttheoretischen Ansätzen, die Affekte als von gesellschaftlichen Ordnungen vermittelte und diese Ordnungen sichernde bzw. problematisierende Phänomene verstehen; b) die Frage, was aus der affekttheoretischen Reflexion für pädagogische Professionalität resultiert („Herzensbildung“).
