Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit der Wirtschaftsordnung und den gesellschaftlichen Verhältnissen der Weimarer Republik. Es spannt einen Bogen von der Anerkennugn der Gewerkschaften als Tarifpartner (Stinnes-Legien-Abkommen) über die wirtschafts- und sozialpolitischen Bestimmungen der Weimarer Verfassung, die wirtschaftlichen Folgen des Versailler Vertrages, die Hyperinflation, die industriellen Strukturen, die divergierenden Interessen der Wirtschaft bis zur Wirtschaftspolitik vor und während der Weltwirtschaftskrise. Zu den Leitfragen des Seminars gehört die Verantwortung der Wirtschaftseliten und der wirtschaftspolitischen Akteure für die Instabilität der Wirtschaftsentwicklung und der parlamentarischen Demokratie.
