Insbesondere über die Verbreitung algorithmischer Lesetechniken hat sich in den vergangenen Jahren die zeitgenössische Debatte über Entstehung und Erscheinungsformen des ‚Posthumanen‘ auch auf die Disziplinen der Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft ausgeweitet, die die Debatte auf originelle Weise bereichern und zu ihrer Artikulation bzw. Ausdifferenzierung beitragen.
In der Diskussion mit eingeladenen Gästen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen beabsichtigt das Seminar, einen Überblick über die Ursprünge und die wissenshistorische Tragweite der Vorstellung des Posthumanen in unterschiedlichen Bereichen zu vermitteln - von der Philosophie über die Soziologie bis hin zu den Digital Humanities.
