Datenerhebung ist ein wichtiger Faktor für jede Art von Experiment/Untersuchung und damit die Grundlage jeder statistischen Analyse. Damit wird der Informationsgewinn aus Daten bereits durch die Wahl der Methode zur Datenerhebung grundlegend beeinflusst und kann bei fehlender Sorgfalt dazu führen, dass Daten (für eine vorgegebene Fragestellung) gänzlich unbrauchbar werden.
Die Fehlerquellen sind dabei sehr vielseitig - von unsauber formulierten Fragen in Fragebögen über verzerrt gezogene Stichproben.
Die Veranstaltung gibt einen generellen Überblick über die verschiedenen Arten der Datenerhebung, veranschaulicht die Konzepte an konkreten Anwendungsbeispielen und schärft das Verständnis für experimentelles Design.
