Das Seminar dient einer Einführung in die sog. Cultural Studies. Es wird vor allem darum gehen herauszuarbeiten, welche theoretischen Hintergründe Vertreter dieses Ansatzes dazu motivieren, sich überhaupt mit den elektronischen Medien näher zu beschäftigen, welche Annahmen und Begriffe das Medienverständnis der Cultural Studies prägen und welche relevanten Forschungsfragen und -felder bearbeitet werden. Dazu sollen im Seminar einschlägige Texte anhand ausgewählter Problemstellungen erarbeitet und diskutiert werden.
