Der inhaltliche Schwerpunkt des Seminars liegt auf der kritisch-reflexiven Betrachtung der Internationalisierung des tertiären Bildungsbereichs. Einführend werden zentrale Begriffe wie Internationalisierung, Europäisierung, Transnationalisierung und Globalisierung erörtert und im Hinblick auf ihren Diskurskontext systematisiert. Daran anschließend wird bildungs- und gesellschaftspolitischen Voraussetzungen, die mit Internationalisierung an der Hochschule in Verbindung stehen und ihrer Bedeutung für die Entwicklung der Disziplin Erziehungswissenschaft nachgegangen. In einem diskursanalytischen Zugang werden die mit Internationalisierungsprozessen verknüpften Strategien und Konzepte genauer betrachtet. In den Blick genommen werden Spannungsverhältnisse zwischen Internationalisierungsbestrebungen, der Re-Nationalisierung von Zugehörigkeitsordnungen und der Reproduktion globaler sowie klassenbezogener Ungleichheitsverhältnisse. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden Entgrenzungen und Begrenzungen nationaler Ordnungen im Hochschulraum und deren Bedeutung für Bildung diskutiert.
