261063 Einführung in die Methodenlehre (S) (WiSe 2014/2015)

Contents, comment

This introduction to general philosophy of science focuses on the questions: What is science, what are the characteristic features of scientific knowledge, and how is scientific knowledge different from other forms of knowledge? The course will survey different answers to these questions such as inductivism, deductivism, paradigm theory and epistemological anarchism. Each position will be persuasively presented before being criticized with the aim of forcing the development of new answers.
The seminar will be held in English.
