Diese Vorlesung liefert in ihrem ersten Teil einen Überblick zur Vorgeschichte soziologischen Denkens in der Antike, der frühen Neuzeit und der beginnenden Moderne, um sich dann im zweiten Teil den Theorieunternehmen und Erklärungsansätzen des 19. Jahrhunderts und schließlich den Gründergestalten der modernen Soziologie um 1900 zuzuwenden.
