Geschichte und Wissenschaftstheorie der Medizin

I am currently researching the concept of medical expertise. A central question concerns the relationship between (medical) specialist expertise and the experiential expertise of patients. I am particularly interested in gaining a better understanding of the quality and status of experiential knowledge and working out what significance this knowledge has for the therapeutic relationship.
In this context, I relate experiential knowledge to both mental and physical experiences and the question of how these two aspects of a person are connected.
In terms of methodology, I take a philosophical and conceptual approach to my research, insofar as I question notions of medical knowledge and want to examine their limits. On the other hand, I work together with researchers who have specific experiential expertise in order to examine and concretise the philosophical concepts in exchange with them and to reflect on the handling of knowledge and expertise.
One aim of my research is to make the interpersonal dimension of expertise explicit, which is relevant in order to adopt a related stance.
