Der Kurs beschäftigt sich mit ausgewählten mikrotheoretischen Ansätzen und vertieft sie aus geschlechtertheoretischer Perspektive, und zwar im Anschluss an das interpretative Paradigma (G.H. Mead, H. Blumer, E. Goffman, H. Garfinkel, S. Kessler, W. McKenna u.a.) und den wissenssoziologischen Sozialkonstruktivismus (P. Berger/Th. Luckmann). In diesem Zusammenhang werden (a) das Verhältnis von Interaktion und Identität und (b) der Zusammenhang von Identität, Interaktion und Geschlecht verhandelt. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie wir handelnd zur Reproduktion gesellschaftlicher Wirklichkeit beitragen und hierbei ein vorausgesetzter biologischer Unterschied – trotz sozialen Wandels und trotz eines differenzierten Gleichheitsstandards – auch in unseren Gegenwartsgesellschaften von so hoher sozialer Geltungskraft und Ungleichheit befördernder Wirkmächtigkeit ist.
