La segunda mitad de los años sesenta y la década de los setenta fue una etapa de rupturas y nuevas propuestas en la literatura y el cine mexicano. Un rasgo identificador en ambas narrativas es el discurso juvenil, una nueva generación surge y se expresa con sus propios recursos. El contexto socio-político que se vive en México al finalizar la década de los sesenta en modo alguno es el más adecuado para darle cauce a las nuevas propuestas, sin embargo, tanto en el cine como en la literatura nuevos discursos se hicieron presentes: en el ámbito literario surge la llamada “literatura de la onda” con un lenguaje fresco, innovador; en el cine, los concursos de cine experimental demuestran la necesidad de renovación y tratamiento de los géneros tradicionales del cine mexicano.
El seminario será enfocado a la revisión de literatura y cine, evidenciando los momentos de colaboración y las diferentes etapas que se distinguen en un momento de transición de la cultura cinematográfica de los años sesenta y el primer lustro de los setenta en México.
