261048 Einführung in die Philosophie der Kognitionswissenschaften (S) (WiSe 2016/2017)

Contents, comment

Meinungen, Wünsche, Sinneswahrnehmungen, Gefühle, Vorstellungsbilder und andere geistige Phänomene sind seit jeher Gegenstand philosophischer Reflexion, seit einigen Jahrzehnten jedoch auch Gegenstand systematischer kognitionswissenschaftlicher Forschung. Ziel des Seminars ist es, einige der wichtigsten Fragen aus dem Grenzbereich zwischen Philosophie und Kognitionswissenschaften kontrovers zu diskutieren: In welchem Verhältnis stehen Geist und Gehirn? Lässt sich der Geist als ‚biologischer Computer‘ beschreiben? Ist Wahrnehmung ein Prozess der Konstruktion von Repräsentationen der Umwelt oder eher ein Prozess der direkten Interaktion mit der Umwelt? Lässt sich das Phänomen des Bewusstseins mit den Methoden der Kognitionswissenschaft erklären?

Textgrundlage für das Seminar ist das Buch Mindware von Andy Clark (2. Auflage!).
